Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. -Hebrews 11:1
While on vacation, I came to the realization that I have been enduring Covid Fatigue for a while now. While on vacation I found I was more intentional about diet, exercise, sleep, and screen time. The time away from my computer and phone screens confirmed for me how much I miss in person connections.
On Wednesday morning I got my first Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination at Walgreens in Yarmouth. When I got to the car, I felt tears streaming down my face. One step closer to seeing people again, one step closer to in person gatherings, one step closer to a lot of things.
I used to be an optimist, but that ended a long time ago. However, I am unwavering in my hopefulness for this world God so loves. It is the simple promise that, someday, this pandemic will be behind us that gives me the most hope. What will follow will be unspeakable joy and celebration.
While we actively wait for what is next by adhering to Covid protocols, we are not alone. God continues to dwell with us in the meantime.
Friends, my prayer is that you find moments of hope. Not just during this pandemic, but at all times and all places. May you not only find those moments, but celebrate them.
Peace, Pastor Andy
